A leather jacket, also known as a trench coat, is a long jacket-length garment that’s usually worn over another garment or object of clothing and usually made of the hide of different animals. The main leather material is often dyed black or various other colours, but even a wide spectrum of colours is achievable. It’s worn in many different situations by men of all ages, from young boys to middle-aged men, and is ideal for many climates and conditions. While there are plenty of styles and types of leather jackets available, the most common ones are belted, buttoned up (with or without buttons), front or double breasted, closed neck, belted (the coat is belted at the front), flap jacket (for protection from the cold) and half jacket (just below the waist). In addition, some leather jackets feature removable liners or fleece liners.Do you want to learn more?click for more info
Although leather jackets date back to the 1870s, they’re a fairly new favourite. Although originally these coats were worn mainly by cowboys and farmers, their popularity has since soared and a variety of styles and looks have emerged, especially through the fashion boom of the late 80s. These days, it’s not uncommon to see men wearing leather jackets when out camping, hiking, fishing or anywhere else! Some styles of coats may also have a slightly more formal look, with a higher collar (for balance), rounded corners or an extra square neck for optimum style.
As well as being worn by men, there are other types of people who can benefit from a quality leather jacket. Fashionistas who like to go high fashion can find a whole range of jackets designed specifically for them, as can industrial workers whose work requires thick and protective clothing. Another group of people who could benefit from jackets are bikers, who get through all the rough weather by riding a bike. Leather jackets with protective features are perfect for this kind of riding, as are jackets that have a military or racing inspired style.
